Most of the noise that enters your property comes through the doors and windows. Often, even though they are closed, it is still loud enough to cause discomfort particularly when you are trying to sleep.
Our comprehensive range of secondary glazed windows give excellent noise reduction and our upgraded Heritage range, which use specialist acoustic glass, will give you the highest level of noise insulation that can be achieved.
In built-up areas and places where noise is above normal the outside noise level is generally around 70-80dB. Our specialist secondary glazing can bring noise levels in your home down to about a comfortable 30-35dB (dependant on some other other factors such as room setup and materials used - hard surfaces such as wooden floors reflect noise more than soft surfaces such as carpets), thereby reducing noise by up to 50dB.
WHO (The World Health Organisation) have advised that sleep disturbance occurs when the noise levels in a bedroom are above 30dB and in other living areas in the home, they have determined that the acceptable level for comfort is around the 35dB level.
By reducing the noise in your home to as close to 30dB as possible, our secondary glazing will help achieve a good night’s rest.
